Gargnano is located in a central position within the Brescia part of the Upper Garda Natural Park and is the Municipality with the greatest territorial extension (78.3 square km.).
The provincial capital and the main towns face the lake, while the hamlets of Villavetro, Fornico and Zuino delicately climb the modest ridge, encircled by olive groves, and offer a priceless view of Garda.
After 500 metres in height, the hill traces other inhabited areas: Liano, Formaga, Navazzo, Sasso and Musaga.
Further astray, Muslone appears, perpendicular over Lake Garda, while the dell of Costa is immersed in natural greenery, 18 kilometres from the provincial capital.
The lakeside towns host buildings featuring important architectonic details, while the entire area proposes the imagery of history, by means of rural structures which submerge their roots in the centuries and the tradition of rustic erudition, bearing witness to the activities of the ancient rural villages.
Within the sights of the lake, among the hills and mountains of the Upper Garda region, both the shortest walk or the most exacting excursion present in the same way numerous and differing motives of interest. The search for an unusual panoramic view, of an animal to watch, of an endemic flower or some of the characteristic constructions present in the Park, are just some of the many excuses which each one of us can use for "inventing" their ideal excursion as one likes.
